Our 1st Shotgun Experience

Though the word 'shotgun' has certain undesirable connotations, I can assure you that it is definitely not referring to those connotations, though it might be more interesting that way.

The outing came by chance two weeks ago as our friend tried to find replacements for his original shotgun buddies (somehow, that doesn't sound right also). As we did not have any programs planned yet, we decided to try something new and go for it.

And so, we woke up early for a Saturday morning to reach the National Shooting Centre along old Chua Chu Kang Road at 8am. The place was indeed serene and secluded, and even though there is a bus plying along that road, I suppose this sport is mainly catered for the rich since most likely you will need a car to reach there. Along the way, we saw nice advertisements for a residential place called Nirvana. It would have made a nice condominium for staying, but if you do have some general knowledge about the area, you would know who are actually staying there.

Anyway, back to the shotgun experience. As usual, we had a safety briefing and I'm quite amazed at how easy it is to operate a shotgun. Likewise, I'm quite amazed at how easy I can miss the target. Maybe I should let the pictures do the talking.

The coach had a death wish

My dear going for second try since I failed earlier

Boy, do I look professional =)

Together we came, we saw, we shot
Amazingly, we had the same score of 8/20 each (never anger the missus, who knows what she can do). It was fun and slightly painful at the shoulders (slightly more painful for dear) and I guess it was worth the experience for $50 each.

One more weapon to my collection of fired arms (with live rounds or blanks): M16, SAR21, GPMG, SAW, .22 revolver, .38 revolver, air rifle (FH2000 not considered an arm, thus not included). Am I dangerous dear? =)
