hmm... seemed like this place is starting to become a food blog of some sort...
went to Wang Jiao at Bugis Junction on Thursday and was quite fascinated by the steaming white sauce or cheese overflowing the hotplate of thy neighbour (at least i was)... after all, we were undecided over what we wanted to eat as we were distracted by the colourful food displays on the menu and their seemingly cheaper price (as compared to other hk restaurants)... there was also an attractive set of instructions to guide us to winning their prizes...
eventually, the girlfriend ordered wanton mee with winter melon and longan tea...
while the protagonist had a lamp chops set... complete with garlic bread, sweet corn soup, jelly dessert and a BIG cup of milk tea...
mine tasted okay with the garlic bread and corn soup and the lamb chop portion was generous, just that the generosity came with lots of fats, lots of soggy fries and some uncooked portions... probably the waitress discerned that i needed more of that on my bony frame... maybe i should also let her know i have high cholesterol as well and let her be my health consultant...
the girlfriend, however, did not have such luck... by contrast, her soup was very healthy, so much so that it tasted like plain water... plus some after-taste due to putting the frozen wanton into the boiling water... however, the winter melon and longan tea was just nice, tasty but not too sweet... guess we needed more luck in picking the better stuffs...
my girlfriend's verdict was more or less decided... she will probably patronise Xin Wang or Kim Gary from now on...
