Hong Kong Day 3

Onwards to Day 3 of our trip.

We had been waking up very early in the morning and we outdid ourselves once again by waking at 0445 (by my dear, while I snooze another 15-30 minutes). This is so that we could walk to the ferry terminal in time for Mac breakfast and the ferry checkin to Macau at 0630. It is quite interesting to see Hong Kong so deserted at that time of the day. But it is more interesting to see a variety in the Mac breakfast meals. And yes, they are playing monopoly as well, with better prizes, I think.

Anyway, after a nice nap on the ferry, we reached Macau at 0830, only to find out that the free shuttle buses only commence operations at 0900. But time flew quite fast with a toilet trip and soon we were on our long cultural walk to St Paul's Ruins and Senado Square. Along the way, we visited a cathedral, entered a mansion, passed by a fountain, got awed by a ruin, got intrigued by a chinese temple, saw a wall (yes, a section of the old city walls, but what were you expecting?), explored a park, walked through a cemetry and combed a fortress. Not bad for a variety of historical places?

After our long exhausting walk (you should see the number of slopes we conquered and how steep they were), we had the famous portugese tarts and the assorted vegetables and meats dipped in some curry.

However, I must say that they were quite a few shops with interesting and cute signs, which gave some relief to our fatigue due to the accumulation of walking for three days.

The second half of the day were spent mainly touring the various hotels' casinos, with Jianye first bringing us to one of the hotels' corridors where the call girls were normally parading to advertise themselves. Well, I guess sex is quite open here in Macau.

Actually the magnificence of the casinos were quite a mismatch with the well preserved Portuguese architecture, but they are still nonetheless spectacular. From gigantic structures to indoor canals, I guess there is nothing that they do not have. Even if they do not have, it is always a case of yet. Can you tell which photo is taken indoors? =P

City of Dreams
After all the shows that we managed to see, including the musical fountain display at Wynn and the Dragon's Treasure at City of Dreams, we went for a sumptuous dinner at a Portuguese restaurant.

After which, it was a ferry ride back to our hotel in Hong Kong and that concludes our Day 3.
