Hong Kong Day 5

Last day in Hong Kong and I guess we were given the cold weather dosage to complete our experience of a different climate from Singapore. Only later on in the day that we found out that the temperature actually dropped to 9°C from the usual 19°C. Luckily we were prepared with our long johns, but the wind was still unbearably cold, just like the night before. Thus, as long as we were in the streets, we were scrambling from one place to another, akin to mice crossing the streets (pun in Mandarin intended).

Anyway, we started the day later at 0730 (not very much later), but we were quite reluctant to leave the cosy and comfy blankets to fight the cold cold air. But we were soon seen packing our luggages and checking out at 0900 to proceed to the dim sum restaurant for our brunch. While most of the stuffs were mediocre, the chee cheong fun was excellent. I guess we can a few more servings of that and not get sick of it. The price was quite average, considering that we were eating at a posh restaurant instead of an eatery out on the streets. To digress a bit, their teacups were amazingly cute as they were very small, similar to that that young girls play with their cookery toys.
My BIG hand
The SMALL teacup
The nice chee cheong fun
The fish-wannabe dumpling
The fresh water fish that got out of the soya sauce... happy!
The normal cha siew bao
Another normal siew mai
The ok chao siew pastry
The programme that followed shortly was mainly shopping for stuffs. We were walking down the high-class shopping districts and dear bought some clothes from G2000 for me. We also had some fun taking photos along the way.
Reminiscence of my house cheer in jc: big lemon, small melon!
The hungry girlfriend just passed by...
U think this is a ball? Think again... Only the brightest centre pattern is real
The evil Mickey...
... with his evil Stitch
We had lunch at another restaurant, more out of necessity, as their food was very welcoming warm. After which, we ended our shopping trip at temple street, before walking back to our hotel to await the bus ride to the airport.
The gift of warmth... it is very nice btw
Nice cha siew rice
Abalone chicken porridge... very nice too
Evidence that we reached Temple Street
At the airport, we thought it was quite apt (though it was by more of a coincidence rather than design) that we ended our trip with a dessert meal, since we started our trip with one. And indeed, their desserts were nice.
Yang zhi gan lu
Papaya with white fungus
The exposed heart... of the strawberry milk pudding
We did our last minute shopping at the airport, and then we entered the gates early. We sort of vow never to enter the gate with minimal time left on the clock, especially since our scare a few days earlier. And soon, we were on our way home. Of course, we should not forget our in-flight dinner and also our exploration of T3 after our touchdown.
The unrecognisable chicken
The unrecognisable fish
In all, though short, our first plane trip together was a success =)
Happy!
