Pirates of the Carribean and Kungfu Panda

The first movie was seen on 20 May. And with courtesy of the Passion card, we got the tickets at $7 each with a free small popcorn.

Prior to the show, I had seen poor reviews about the show, but I thought the movie was quite alright. After all, it was a mythical show, anything can happen anyway. Though I've got a colleague who spared no efforts in advertising that it sucks. My dear had never seen the series before, so I guess she enjoyed the movie a lot.

It started off with the protagonist trying to save his First Mate from the gallows and then getting his way to finding the Fountain of Youth. In between, there were its classical sword fights and runs. It was quite funny to see Jack executing his escape route while trying to eat a dessert cake en route. He was then captured by a pirate and his daughter, as the old pirate wanted to extend his life by visiting the Fountain of Youth. They also capture a mermaid to bring to the Fountain of Youth in order to retrieve her tears. Then in the end, the pirate died after drinking from the wrong cup, a plot hatched by Jack, and his life was given to his daughter. After which, Jack dumped the daughter on a isolated island. As usual, since my memory is quite bad, it would be better to search for the movie plot if you want to know more details about it.

The second movie was seen the following week on 27 May and once again, the Passion card gave us similar benefits. I guess I can stop my subscription for SAFRA card already.

The movie started out with the extermination of the Pandas by a Peacock, Lord Shen, due to a prediction by a soothsayer. Lord Shen was exiled as a result and all was peaceful and quiet, until Lord Shen decided that peace and quiet was not the way of his world and he was ready with his cannon to rule over China. Po with his entourage were then tasked to stop Lord Shen. In between, Po also managed to find out his real parentage. However, ties forged cannot be easily broken and he remained gratified towards his foster dad. Well, Lord Shen was defeated in the end as he decided not to repent. There was a scene at the end of the credits, showing that his real dad was alive after all. Guess that sets the scene for the next episode.

The story was nicely craved and continued in the second episode and my dear felt that there were more feminine characteristics given to Tigress as well. In between there were many witty dialogues and funny scenes of Po doing things, uncharacteristically of a hero. In all, we enjoyed the movie very much.
