We woke up very early in the morning in order to reach ROM to collect our documents for our solemnisation the next day. We (or rather mainly me) decided against using our rented car as given the Government's efforts in trying to reduce car volume into the city but that seemed very unapparent on the ECP in the morning, God knows how much time and money is required to reach there. Of course, the parking was also another issue. Thus, we opted for the MRT, even though that appeared to be a less obvious and reliable choice these days. However, we woke up not early enough and as a result, we took a cab, which made all the earlier arguments invalid. Well, at least, we need not think about the parking. =)
Anyway, we reached the sacred location well before our appointed time and we (at least I was) were surprised to see other couples waiting there before us. It was interesting that the couples were of different races, ages and so on. Once the doors opened, we got our queue number (iconic of public agencies) and waited for our turn.

When the polyclinic ring tone announced our turn, our documents were checked, we made our vows (which could not be recorded as the officer mentioned that no recording was allowed) and we pre-signed our lives together. It was nervous but the process was over as quickly as we realised that it started.

We promptly made our way back home to pack my stuffs this time round to bring to our new home. After which, we went to check in to the hotel to collect our bridal suite keys and helpers' room keys. It was quite nice to see the efforts put in by the hotel staffs to make the couple feel welcomed and happy.

The car was utilised next to visit the park Rhu Cross which we were supposed to have our morning photo shoot. And we were astonished to find out that there will be a major scale event happening at the same place and at the same time. Backup plans were activated and after liaising with our videographer and photographer, we changed our location back to Marina Barrage (after we checked that there were no public events in the morning).
Relieved that the minor hiccup was gone, we went to collect the hand flowers for the following day and it was indeed an unique experience of having our blood sucked dry upon looking at the cash value of the cashcard after entering the legendary ERP gantries, even though we already had an earlier experience with the taxi in the morning. This time round, no traffic police officer. =)

Next, it was the tying of the bridal car and I found it amazing that the shop was located at the top of the multi-storeyed carpark. Talk about utilisation of space. Anyway, their work was quick and great as the effect was indeed very nice and to both our likings.

Unfortunately, time had the amazing ability to disappear when fun was in the equation and thus I dropped my dear off at her place to allow her to prepare for the hair combing later on, while I made my way back alone to mine to prepare for the same thing.
We bathed and were dressed in our pyjamas (the ones which we bought from the wedding shop after our failed attempts to get cheaper ones) and from then on, our feet cannot touch the ground. Not that we suddenly had to learn how to levitate, but our feet cannot touch the ground directly, and that was easily achieved via our slippers. Earlier, we had also written down the words to be said during the hair-combing and we coordinated the start of the procedure via the wonders of modern technology - handphone, by lighting of the long feng zhu. Thus, hair-combing was done fairly quickly around 1 am as my mum was tired after staying up beyond her bedtime.

After a long chain of events, finally the big day awaits!
