Updates on Renovation 6

I had been going down to take a look everyday and the progress so far had been good. Though there were some issues regarding the adherence to the originally discussed plan (like the placement of the kitchen sliding door and its corresponding track), that was soon sorted out and I guess things should be more or less done next week. We had also decided to go ahead with plastering and relocation of the electrical sockets, despite the extra cost and we took out some items as well. The workers were quite nice too, though I thought that their progress can be further improved. You can actually do photohunt for some of the photos.

We also received the items that we bought previously. As such, we were also getting a big hole in our pocket. Interestingly, it was only the third time in my entire life that I actually spent an amount that consisted of four digits before the decimal point. Similar to the renovation, so far so good and took a lot of pictures of them. While waiting for the delivery of the items, we continued on our mini project of removing the solar film from the window panes. Not a very good idea as the glue of the film was stubbornly stuck to the glass. On hindsight, perhaps the $300 to get others to do it is really worth it.

Dear's creative creation

Our sink and accessories arrived 1st

The basin came thereafter

So did the water closet...

... and the mirror cabinets and towel racks

The late arrival of the oven

The pretty glass hob

The instant water heaters

The unopened hood

Just to update, we also bought our bedside table and in the process of confirming the bedroom wardrobe.

My dear also made one comment which I felt was interesting: The best time to buy a house is now! The reason is shown in the picture below. I guess we were relieved and glad that we settled for our house that time, otherwise we will be having a headache in terms of the money which we need to fork out. Guess that the high COV that we paid can be considered to be relatively alright now and we do not feel so heart pain. Sigh, the housing situation now seemed to be so dire.

The never-ending climb
